About the Mazatapec magic mushroom strain
The Mazatecs have been using magic mushrooms, called Los Niños santos (the holy children), for thousands of years.
In their cosmology, everything is imbued with consciousness and mushrooms are a way of communicating with levels that are otherwise hidden.
In Oaxaca no Cubensis actually grow, but mainly
- Psilocybe mexicana
- Psilocybe caerulescens
These are completely different species, which unfortunately cannot be cultivated. So if you're looking for magic mushrooms that actually come from Mazetec territory, you won't be able to avoid traveling halfway around the world.
