About the Thai magic mushroom strain
Do Cubensis strains even exist, or is it ALL made up to serve the need for variety?
We ask ourselves this question again and again when researching strains, and especially with Thai strains we have to look at both sides: From a purely microbiological point of view, strains are wishy-washy and so little standardized that they might as well not even be there, then everything you can buy would be called „Cubensis“. The fact is, however, that this strain has been around for decades and many a mushroom lover swears that Thai mushrooms have a special, Southeast Asian flair, often combined with visuals like the ones you see in the artwork for the product image.
The Thai strain is a Cubensis species, but is often confused with „Psilocybe Samuiensis“ because of its name. This is mainly because it always sounds cool when something has its own species name. (All magic mushrooms that can be cultivated are the same species, EXCEPT Copelandia).
Thailand already had a flourishing magic mushroom tourism in the 90s. Mushrooms were already being served as smoothies, omelettes or on pizza back then and there is even a Field study on Thai mushroom tourism.
